The New York Times reports that colleges are making lots of small changes to address budget challenges. One of the most interesting is the "virtual" sports event, in which competing teams don't actually meet face to face.
The lead was long, 42 words. It is readable enough, but I would have tried to compress it into fewer words, and one sentence.
