President Obama signed a new law on June 22. This law gives the Food and Drug Administration all authority over tobacco. The FDA is now doing much more to regulate tobacco. Some of these things include, reducing or removing some of the ingredients that are harmful in cigarettes, as well as limiting the advertisments on these products. The FDA is not, however allowed to ban all tobacco products or any one line such as cigars, or chewing tobacco.
The article had an okay lead. It did not tell the reader exactly what the story was about but it did give announce a debate that has been going on for a long time. The story was very lengthy but covered all major points.
